│ NETMAIL HELP FILE │
│ │
│ Using NetMail you can send a personal message to any user of any FidoNet │
│ BBS in the world! It's easy to do if you follow the procedure. When │
│ you press E to <E>nter a NetMail message you will see a display like: │
│ │
│ Type node address, net/node address, zone:net/node address, L to list │
│ nodes, Z to change zone, or C to change net/region --> │
│ │
│ All you need to enter is the net/node number of the particular board │
│ that you are sending the message to. Assuming that you don't know the │
│ address of the BBS that you want to send the message and assuming that │
│ the BBS is at least in the USA, you can press <C> to list all the │
│ networks in the US. Once you figure out the network that the board is │
│ located in, then type in the network number then you can <L> list the │
│ nodes (boards) that are in that network. Then just type in the node │
│ number and you're in business. │
│ │

│ The procedure is pretty much the same if you want to send messages │
│ outside of the US except that you need to press <Z> to change zones. │
│ │
│ One thing to note is that the address of a FidoNet BBS is a lot like a │
│ telephone number. It is usually written like: zone:net/node.point. │
│ This is comparable to zone being the country code, net being the area │
│ code and node being the phone number, and point being a extension. An │
│ example of this is 1:370/30. This is the FidoNet address of Ed's Place. │
│ We are in zone 1 which is the United States, Network 370 which is the │
│ Athens area network and Node 30 within the network. Most often it is │
│ shortened to 370/30 since many bulletin boards don't support overseas │
│ message transfers. (It's hell on the phone bill) │
│ │
│ Your message will be extracted from the message base when you log off │
│ and addressed to it's destination. Any local message will be delivered │
│ immediately. Long distance messages may take several days unless you │
│ make special arrangements with the SYSOP to pay the long distance costs │
│ for a direct call to the destination BBS. │

│ Please The use of NetMail on BIZynet requires a special flag and │
│ Note: is normally restricted to Registered Users and Commercial │
│ Subscribers. Please <P>age or leave a message to SYSOP if │
│ you need an exception. │
